The youth choir from Children’s Academy of Prescott (Prescott, AZ) toured the Mansion Entertainment offices in Franklin, TN to learn more about the music business and the functions of a record label. The youth choir was started as a direct result of a Crosby Lane performance several years ago in Prescott, and the youth choir performed an a cappella version of Crosby Lane’s “Crucified” during their visit. The kids also perform music by Triumphant Quartet, The Hoppers and others, as Southern Gospel is a big influence on what they choose to perform. Crosby Lane has been the youth choir’s Nashville host and helped schedule their itinerary while visiting the city. After visiting the Mansion offices, they made their way to Dennis Dearing’s recording studio (Menace Music) and to tour the world famous Music Row in Nashville. The group is ultimately making their way to Pigeon Forge, TN to attend The National Quartet Convention.
John Mathis of Mansion commented, “This was a big highlight for us today, thanks to Crosby Lane for taking the time to line all of this up for the youth and for having a heart to impact kids. It is refreshing to see the next generation with a desire to learn and sing this music. The kids asked great questions during our visit and we loved hearing them sing! I know they’re going to enjoy seeing the sights and sounds at the National Quartet Convention! It’s great to know we’re handing off our music to a new generation!”
