When The Ascension Quartet released their debut single from their new album last year, it was a Singing News Top 80 chart release. Now their second release, “I Know My Redeemer Lives”, from their ‘Instrument of Grace’ album has climbed into the #69 spot for the Singing News Top 80 chart for May. This song was penned by Ricky Atkinson and gives this quartet two chart singles in a row.
In other radio news, Three Bridges’ rendition of the classic song “Shadrach” continues to climb and makes a move into the Singing News Top 40 at #38. Group founder Elliott McCoy remembered the old Ames Brother’s version of the song and recorded it on the ‘Twelve’ project. “Shadrach” was actually a popular song written by Robert MacGimsey in the 1930’s and performed by Louis Armstrong, The Ames Brothers, The Golden Gate Quartet, The Fairfield Four, Benny Goodman and many others. In 1962 the song was a hit single for Brook Benton, peaking at #19 in Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
And The Griffith Family continue to populate both the Affirm Southern Gospel Radio Chart (Top 100) and the SGN Scoops Top 100 with their release of “I’m Gonna Leave The Light On”.
Congratulations to The Ascension Quartet, Three Bridges and The Griffith Family on these radio successes.
New music is shipping to radio from these artists, as well as other Mansion recording artists in April 2017.
