Mansion Entertainment, in association with Sony RED, is proud to present Kaitlyn Baker’s new version of the classic holiday song “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”
Written by Johnny Marks, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” is one of the most popular holiday songs of all time, since Brenda Lee first released it as a single in 1958. It has since been covered by more than 100 other artists as diverse as Amy Grant, Green Day, Cyndi Lauper, Toby Keith and Alvin and the Chipmunks.
“It has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs, because it’s so family-oriented and fun,” Baker said. “I’m not trying to sound like Brenda Lee, but I wanted my version to be somewhat similar to the original, which is why there is a strong emphasis on the saxophone. However, I think the twang in my voice gives it more of a country sound.”
Baker’s version of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” was produced by her manager and frequent co-writer Scott Arnold. It was recorded at Mansion Recording Studio in Franklin, Tennessee, and is released through Mansion Entertainment/Sony RED.
The single features Andy McCormick on rhythm guitar, electric guitar, saxophone and drums, and Graham Scott on bass. It was engineered by Mac Moody with mix and mastering by Tony Griffith Even Baker’s favorite dog, Sadie, got involved, appearing on the cover art and in the accompanying music video. “Christmas is about family, and my dogs are part of my family,” she said.

The 2-CD ZinePak, which combined songs by superstars and emerging artists, was in the top 10 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart for three consecutive weeks. She will soon appear on the nationally syndicated PBS concert series “Song of the Mountains.”
